VILLAGE TREASURE HOUSE new grants bring total of $650,000 provided to local community services.

It has been a banner year for Glenview’s Village Treasure House.  With more consignments, volunteers and sales, Village Treasure House is proud to announce $150,000 of monetary grant awards to local agencies providing services to woman and children in crisis for 2007.

The grants are funded by the profits from selling consigned and donated pre-owned furniture, antiques and decorator items. Last year, VTH provided $93,075 in local grants. Village Treasure House has had an extra ordinary good year due to an increase in donations and consignments by businesses and individuals wishing to liquidate fine quality merchandise.

VTH features the best in home furnishings and accessories.  It is an easy on the eyes and spirit kind of place.  High quality -- Great bargains – Good Causes.  One of Glenview’s best shopping secrets.  VTH is a recycle center for beautiful items.  Since opening in Glenview in 1998, the Village Treasure House has funded $650,000 in local charitable grants.  “ These grants may not change the world; but we hope they will result in a major positive impact on our community.”

The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is located at 1825 Glenview Rd.  Between Harlem Ave. and Waukegan Rd. right next door to the west of the fire department, with lots of public parking available behind the shop via Church St. or Dewes St.   For information, call: 847/832-1030, or visit the website at: www.villagetreasurehouse.com.

Donations of furniture, rugs, china, crystal, lamps, paintings and collectibles in good condition are accepted any time, and tax letters are provided.  VTH is a 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Organization.   If it is too good to just give it away.  Consign It!  A 50 - 50 split.  Consignment is by appointment only, either at the shop or in the home/business for larger items.

Aside from its one shared full-time manager position, the shop is entirely staffed by eighty-five part-time volunteers. VTH needs your talents -- working as little as two half days a month.  Every volunteer job helps support agencies servicing families in our community with the most need.
